Chemco Group has commissioned a new food-grade rPET (bottle-to-bottle) recycling facility in Sanand, Gujarat, strengthening the market’s ability to convert post-consumer PET bottles into high-quality recycled resin for direct packaging applications.

According to reports, the plant is designed to recycle more than 1 billion post-consumer PET bottles annually, producing food-grade recycled PET (rPET) suitable for food and beverage packaging. This reflects continued momentum in the rPET sector as brand owners and packaging supply chains increase their focus on circularity and recycled content.

The facility is also positioned to meet strict compliance expectations: the output rPET is reported to be aligned with global regulatory requirements, including US FDA and EFSA approvals and compliance with India’s FSSAI food-contact requirements.
